Privacy policy

Tendly helps you keep track of home maintenance, bills and records. This page explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how to delete it. In short: we use your data only to run Tendly for you, and we never sell it.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, and either a password (stored only as a secure hash) or your Google account ID if you sign in with Google.
- Your home: the address you enter and the details you confirm, such as year built, utilities, and heating type.
- What you track: maintenance items, checklists, bills (amounts, due dates, usage), appliances, service records, your emergency card, and any files you upload such as receipts, manuals or bill photos.
- Technical basics: a single sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in, and your theme choice saved in your browser. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
Only to provide Tendly to you: building your maintenance plan, showing your dashboard, sending reminders and account emails (like email confirmation and password resets), and keeping your account secure. We don't show ads and we don't sell or rent your data to anyone.
Sign in with Google
If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google shares your name, email address and a unique account ID with us. We use them only to create and sign in to your Tendly account. We don't access your Gmail, contacts, files or anything else in your Google account. Our use of information received from Google follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Services we rely on
A few trusted services help run specific features. Each receives only what that feature needs:
- Google, for optional sign-in.
- Resend, to deliver emails to you.
- Anthropic (Claude), to read a bill or appliance label photo, only when you upload one to be scanned.
- U.S. Census Bureau geocoder, to look up your address during setup.
- Open-Meteo, for local weather and freeze forecasts, using your home's approximate location.
- ATTOM, to pre-fill basic property facts, when that feature is turned on.
Shopping links to stores such as Amazon, Home Depot and Lowe's may be affiliate links and are always labeled. Following one sends you to that store, which has its own privacy policy.
Keeping it safe
Your data is stored on servers we operate, connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, and uploaded files are private to your account. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you.
Your choices
- You can view and edit your information in the app at any time.
- You can turn off reminder emails in Settings. Essential account emails (like password resets) still send.
- You can delete your account in Settings. This permanently removes your home, items, bills, records and uploaded files.
Children
Tendly is meant for adults managing a home and isn't directed at children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and let you know by email or in the app. For any privacy question or request, email [email protected].
